Library fundraiser features baskets

Silent auction, raffle set for Nov. 21

Neuschafer Community Library will hold its 15th annual fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Fremont Village Hall.

The event will feature approximately 300 themed baskets, put together by the library’s staff and volunteers, as well as silent auction and raffle items.

The silent auction and raffle items are on display at the library.

Among the items for this year’s silent auction are Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre pictures (both with minimum bids from ACME Sports), two glass items with minimum bids from Sweets’ Glass Treats, a baby booties “cake” constructed with 84 diapers and eight receiving blankets, a two-night stay at Jellystone Park, a $100 Visa gift card from Farmers State Bank and 50-yard line Green Bay Packers tickets from Frick Ford. Other silent auction items are a golf basket from Lake Breeze Golf Course, a Mary Kay “Think Summer” basket from Emily Schuette, a bin of space-saving gizmos and gadgets from Dr. Denis Scharine, a personal machine quilting coupon from Marcia Rhone, a wine and candle basket from BMO Harris Bank and a Grillmaster pail from Premier Bank.

The latest silent auction items received at the library include a Mary Kay Dry Skin Relief basket from Johanna Edwards, two bird themed baskets from Wind River Rehab, a framed photo, a photo session and 11×14 print from Pulse Photography, a knitted rabbit fur hat and neck band and $20 gift certificate from Elements Unleashed, two Sunday brunches from Radisson Paper Valley Hotel and “Matt’s Masterpiece,” which includes pulled pork for 25 people, coleslaw, beans and buns (delivered).

More items and baskets are arriving at the library every day.

Pictures of the items are on the library’s Facebook page.

People may visit the library to place their bids.

The three raffle items are a dancing doll made by Kathy Smith, a Christmas quilt made by Kathy Gaynor, and an Amazon Fire tablet from a Thrivent Action Team.

The cost of raffle tickets is $2 for one ticket, $5 for three tickets and $10 for six tickets.

In addition, there will be crafters, vendors and a bake sale at the Nov. 21 fundraiser.

Breakfast will again be served in the council room, beginning at 8 a.m., for those who want to arrive at the hall early and purchase something to eat before they begin shopping.

Lunch will begin being served at 10:30 a.m. and will feature chicken from Ted’s Grandview Supper Club.

Library Director Susan Frick said the funds raised at this year’s event will go toward the purchase of an early literacy station and to also support programming, the library’s large print collection, young adult audio, discovery boxes for children and the story time lab.
