Damen R. Thompson, 19, New London is charged with resisting an officer, failure to comply with an officer and disorderly conduct.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Friday, June 12, a woman in Farmington called 911 and reported that Thompson was pounding on her door.

According to the criminal complaint, she said Thompson had been at her house earlier with a baseball bat looking for her son.

Within five minutes, Detective Sgt. John Mocadlo, with the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, arrived at the woman’s home on Duvenick Lane. He found a young man, identified as Thompson, wearing no shirt and standing between the garage and the porch.

Mocadlo told Thompson that he was trespassing and needed to leave. The officer also confiscated a folding knife from Thompson, the complaint says.

Mocadlo then told Thompson to turn around and place his hands on the porch railing for a pat down. Thompson reportedly failed to comply and a struggle ensued as Mocadlo tried to hold Thompson in an arm lock.

A bystander attempted to help by grabbing a transport belt with handcuffs from Mocadlo’s vehicle.

At 4:05 p.m., Waupaca Police Officer Bret Rodenz and Deputy Pat Gorchals arrived.

Thompson continued to struggle with the three officers until Rodenz drew his stun gun and threatened to use it, the complaint says.
