CHS Larsen Co-op expansion underway

Contractors expect Readfield grain facility project to be done by harvest

CHS Larsen Cooperative is currently expanding its grain facilities in two Wisconsin locations, Readfield and Center Valley.

The projects are expected to be completed for 2015 harvest. The expansion project will add an additional 980,750 bushels of storage, decrease wait time for unloading, increase dump pit speeds, and increase drying capacities.
CHS Larsen Cooperative is confident in the contractors chosen for the expansion projects.

Readfield’s general contractor is Buresh Building Systems Inc. and sub-contractors Faulks Brothers Construction and Jakes Electric LLC. Center Valley’s general contractor is Wisconsin Feed Mill Builders Inc. and sub-contractor Radtke Contractors Inc. and Beez Electric Inc.

Both projects are moving progressively, weather permitting. The Readfield location has the boot pit dug. The pit floor was poured and the contractors are setting forms for the pit walls. The Center Valley project requires much more excavation and is making good progress to date.

“There is a lot of foundation work in place,” said Steve LaChey, grain division manager, CHS Larsen Cooperative. “Once the boot and dumb pits are finished, the contractors will start on the bin foundations and the tower assemblies. We are very excited to see this project in motion.”

The public can follow construction updates on the CHS Larsen Cooperative website, CHSLarsenCooperative.com.

This will include renderings of the plans along with photos of the projects in process.
