Where’s Waldo in Waupaca

WaldoWhere’s Waldo is returning for its fourth summer to Waupaca.

The hunt, running from July 1-31, is free and open for anyone to enter.

Passports are available at Dragonwings Bookstore (inside The Bookcellar) at 110 S. Main St., which is the headquarters for Where’s Waldo in Waupaca. Passports will also be available at the Waupaca Area Public Library, Scooper’s and some of the other search sites.

Players begin the hunt by collecting stamps on their passports when they spot a 6-inch Waldo figure in up to 25 locations around downtown, King and the Chain.

Challenging places to look for Waldo this year include Little Fat Gretchen’s, The Paint Store, Niemuth’s Steak and Chop Shop, Chain O’Lakes Bar and Grill, Moo’s Dairy Bar, Tom Thumb Mini-Golf and Turner’s Fresh Market.

Players turn in their stamped passports at Dragonwings to earn prizes at three prize levels – Basic: 10 sites, Extreme: 18 sites or Ultimate: all 25 Waldo search sites.

This Shop Local scavenger hunt is sponsored by Waldo’s publisher Candlewick Press and by the American Booksellers Association, and is hosted by a local independent bookstore in more than 300 cities nationwide.
