Jensen, Mary

Sadly, on July 24, 2015, Mary unexpectedly had an aneurysm and passed away while in Minneapolis for her daughter’s basketball tournament.

When Mary Jensen wasn’t watching her children’s and husband’s basketball games or helping young kids break out of their shells as a speech-language pathologist at the Waupaca Learning Center, she was traveling to the family cabin up North or to National Parks out West.

She was dedicated to her children, as seen when she’d take off of work to chaperone their field trips and the years spent as a Girl Scout troop leader. She was a patient woman, as seen in the many, many summers it took her to complete a complicated cross-stitch. But most importantly, she was extremely loving, which was felt through her tight hugs.

Mary will live on through her husband, Gregg Jensen and children, Molly, Marcus, and Geena; her parents, Dave and Betty Helbach; her siblings, Mark (Morna) Helbach, Lisa (David) Waldoch, and Heidi (Chas) Pronschinske; her in-laws, Muggs Jensen, Brian (Julie) Jensen and Scott (Robin) Jensen; her nieces and nephews, Lyn Helbach, Kelly, Frankie and Connor Helbach, Hans and Ian Waldoch, Nathan, Adam, and Chance Pronschinske, and Megan Jensen; as well as many cousins and other relatives that are hard to keep track of. She has gone to see her brother, David Helbach and her husband’s dad, Don Jensen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church (453 S Main St., Amherst). Father Dan Hackel will officiate. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home (262 S. Main St., Amherst). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mary’s name.
