Free corn served Sunday only

The 47th annual Scandinavia Corn Roast offers family fun from July 31 to Aug. 2.
The weekend event includes carnival rides and concessions by Spectrum Entertainment, food and refreshments, plus a variety of entertainment.
A Friday night fish fry is available.
Saturday’s fun includes the parade on Main Street and a truck pull.
Sunday includes an outdoor church service, ball games, farm and antique tractor pulls, a corn roast and the Pie & Ice Cream Social.
The Scandinavia Corn Roast continues its Chainsaw Artist Wood Sculpting Competition, which began in 2012. White pine logs are harvested locally for the competition and range from 22- to 36-inches in diameter.
The wood sculpting begins at noon Friday and continues throughout the weekend with an auction each day.
Daily admission is $5 for adults 21 and over; $3 for ages 13 to 20 and free for age 12 and under. Friday’s admission goes to the Scandinavia Volunteer Fire Department, which will host the evening band, “Road Trip,” starting at 8 p.m.
Other activities on Friday evening include softball tournaments, a fish fry and carnival rides. Food and refreshments will be available the entire weekend.
Each day Spectrum Carnival will fill the midway with amusement rides and games with a $20 carnival ride wristband special from 6-10 p.m., which includes all rides. Another wristband special will be held from 1-5 p.m. Saturday.
Reduced advance wristband tickets can be purchased at Scandi C-Store for $16.
The Scandinavia Fire Department will hold its raffle drawing at 10 p.m. Friday.
Saturday kicks off with the “Life is a Circus” parade on Main Street. The grounds open at 11 a.m.
The “Mr. Steve Kids Music & Magic Shows” will be held both Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday afternoon are the truck pulls and live music from “Feedback the Band,” followed by “Railroad Ron” music variety show. The evening headliner band is “Ask Your Mother” at 8 p.m.
On Sunday, the grounds open at 9 a.m. with a church worship service in the park with music by “Dixie Down.”
The free roasted and boiled sweet corn is served beginning at 11 a.m. until it’s gone.
Beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday is the 10th annual Scandinavia Corn Roast Tractor Pull.
The Pie & Ice Cream Social begins at noon.
The afternoon includes baseball games and more fun for children from Mr. Steven and Dizzy D. Balloon Twister.
Music throughout Sunday includes The Justmann Band, Vic Ferrari and The Swing Crew.
Sunday is the only day corn is served.
