A-F spoils Indians’ opener

W-F drops game to Green Devils

Adams-Friendship scored on its first three possessions and went on to hand Weyauwega-Fremont a 32-6 loss Aug. 21 in a nonconference football matchup.

The Green Devils found the end zone three times in the first quarter on Joe Duty’s 5-yard run and Duty’s touchdown passes of 43 yards to Chris Deja and 23 yards to C.J. Tikkanen.

Brandon Scheer put the Indians on the scoreboard with a 5-yard run in the second quarter that cut the lead to 18-6, but John Wolf returned the kickoff after the score 80 yards to give the visitors a 25-6 lead.

Duty and Deja hooked up for a 31-yard TD pass in the third quarter for the game’s final score.

The Green Devils outgained the Indians 249-81 on the ground and 138-14 through the air and also had a 17-5 advantage in first downs.

Scheer finished with 34 yards in 13 carries for W-F.

The Indians will travel to Brillion at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28.
