Pagel, Lorraine E.

Lorraine E. Pagel, age 88, of Almond, WI passed away on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Wild Rose Manor.

Lorraine was born in Amherst, WI on March 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Carl Skoglund and Emma (Damrau) Powers. On November 27, 1948, Lorraine married Lyle A. Pagel at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1998. She is a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, having taught Sunday School, Bible School, and as a member of the choir. Lorraine was also an active member in St. John’s Ladies Aid, Unit 339 American Legion Auxiliary, and the Golden Needle Quilt Guild and had held several positions in these organizations. She was also an active volunteer at the Almond Library and in her children’s school activities. She was a loyal Packer and Brewer fan and enjoyed spending time sewing, playing cards and games, and with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lorraine is survived by her children: SuAnn (Gary Rast) Pagel-Rast, Almond; Timothy (Marcie) Pagel, Neenah and Thomas (Connie) Pagel, Plover; her five grandchildren: Tori Pagel, Issac (Nickie) Pagel, Timothy (Angel) Page, Peter (friend Christine Richards) Pagel and Carly (fiance Sean Beulen) Rast; three great-grandchildren: Oliver Pagel, Lyla and Julian Pagel; her sisters-in-law, Adeline Bork, Green Bay and Emily Pagel, Almond; her dear friend, Clifford Steinke, Almond and many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her father, Carl Skoglund; her mother and stepfather, Emma and Rufus Powers; her brother, Leland (Karen) Skoglund and her brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Merle and Evonne Pagel, Kenneth Pagel and Howard Bork.

The Christian Funeral Service will be on Saturday, September 5 at 11 a.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Almond with Reverend Brian Roehrborn, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church and also on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Lorraine’s name.

The family wishes to thank Clifford Steinke for his love and support. They also wish to thank the staff at Wild Rose Manor, St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Marshfield Clinic for the care provided for her.
