Comets celebrate Homecoming

Homecoming at Waupaca High School is set for the week of Sept. 27.

This year’s homecoming court is made up of Elliot Crisman and Brenna Oleson; Cannon Hermanson and Abby Dremel; Nate Meihak and Brooklyn Rohloff; Christian Overman and Brenna Neumann; Matt Pliska and Nikky Weise; Jake Stedman and Claire Jungers; and Walker Smith and Haley Glass.

They will be among those participating in the 5 p.m. parade on Friday, Oct. 2, through downtown Waupaca. The varsity football team will then take on the Shawano Hawks at 7 p.m., at Haberkorn Field.

The semi-formal homecoming dance will be held from 7-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, in the high school commons.

The cost is $5 for singles and $8 for couples.

Next week’s activities will also include themed dress-up days.

Monday, Sept. 28 will be “America Day,” with coronation at 7:30 p.m. that day, in the high school’s Performing Arts Center.

Tuesday, Sept. 29 will be “Tourist/Safari Day,” and Wednesday, Sept. 30 will be “Class Color Day.”

The colors will be navy for the staff, black for the seniors, purple for the juniors, orange for the sophomores and grey for the freshmen.

Thursday, Oct. 1 will be “Celebrity/Movie Star Day,” and Friday, Oct. 2 will be “Comet Spirit Day,” with the pep rally at 1:45 p.m., in the high school gym.
