The undefeated Falcons beat the Manawa Wolves 56-6 in Friday night’s conference matchup in Amherst.

The Falcons started the game with an outside kick, but Manawa was able to get on the ball at the 44 yard line.

The Wolves went to Zach Kreklow, followed by Luke Wilz and a QB keeper by Brandon Radloff, bringing up fourth and 7 only to have Radloff sacked by Amherst’s Tyler Biadasz.

Amherst slowly moved the ball forward with runs by Brandon Piotrowski and Garret Groshek. Piotrowski later found the end-zone on the 29-yard run, followed by Cameron Gaulke kicking the extra point putting the Falcons up 7-0 early in the game.

On the Wolves’ next possession Radloff was sacked again. Manawa’s quarterback was later called for intentional grounding, moving the Wolves to deep in the field and forcing them to punt the ball away.

Groshek’s first pass fell incomplete, but he later connected with Joshua Cisewski for a 31-yard touchdown. Gaulke kicked the extra point, widening the gap to 14-0.

The Wolves came up short once again, turning the ball back over to the Falcons.

On the Falcons’ next possession Groshek made it to the end-zone on a 46-yard run, with the extra point failing. The first quarter ended with the Falcons ahead 20-0.

Piotrowski scored right away to start the second quarter, followed by Groshek connecting with Harry Piotrowski for 2 more, putting the Falcons up 28-0.

Possession of the ball went back and forth between the teams, before Brandon Piotrowski scored again from 26 yards out, followed by a kick by Gaulke to raise the score to 35-0.

With Manawa unable to move the ball, the Falcons again took over and on second and 10 Groshek connected with Dalton Nemzoff, followed Gaulke kicking the extra point giving the Falcons a 42-0 lead to end the first half.

In the second half, Dustin Borgen, Devin Ostrowski and Ben Gutschow moved the ball up the field, putting the Falcons in scoring position again when Brandon Piotrowski ran it in. Gaulke got the extra point on the board giving the Falcons a 49-0 lead.

The Wolves went to Ethan Hass and Radloff on a quarterback keeper, but still came up short forcing them to kick the ball away.

Amherst started on the 43 yard line and was moving the ball up the field when Hunter Warner fumbled the ball and Nathan Reynolds recovered for the Wolves.

Radloff later fumbled the ball and Borgen recovered for the Falcons to end the quarter.

The final quarter started with Borgen scoring right away. With Gaulke kicking the extra point, the Falcons had a 56-0 lead.

Manawa was finally able to get on the board when Hass ran 65 yards for a touchdown. With the extra point failing, the score stood at 56-6.
