Love Lights ceremony Dec. 3

Event raises funds for ILA Wish List

Local students are helping to promote the annual Iola Living Assistance Love Lights event where lights and memorial ornaments decorate holiday trees in memory of lost loved ones.

Members of the Iola-Scandinavia High School Art Club made Love Lights posters to display in local businesses to let residents know about the annual event.

The Love Lights serve as a fundraiser for the Iola Living Assistance Wish List Foundation. This year, the goal is to purchase specialized resident care equipment to enhance the “home-like” environment for residents.

The Love Lights dedication ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3. The Hitterdahl Community Choir will lead and sing traditional Christmas carols. All are invited to participate.

Following the event there will be cookies and refreshments along with a bake sale that runs from 4:30-6 p.m. in the Butternut Ridge great room. Attendees can sign up for a chance to win door prizes.

Donated baked goods may be brought to the Iola Living Assistance kitchen by 4 p.m. on Dec. 3.
