William Gerard Wyse, age 51, of New London, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012, as the result of an automobile accident. Bill was born on December 26, 1960 to James and Mary (Block) Wyse of Princeton. He attended Princeton High School and UW-Stevens Point. He was employed in advertising sales at the Press-Star newspaper in New London. Bill enjoyed music, traveling, and was an avid bicyclist. He collected guitars and old radios. He liked searching for items, for himself and also for other people; if he know somebody wanted something, he would find it for them. Like his father and grandfather, Bill was a lifelong Democrat. Survivors include his sisters, Maureen (Bob) Schweder of Princeton, Kathryn Weinberger of Ripon, and Sheila (Marty) Moore of Zion, Illinois; a brother, Joe Wyse of Princeton; a nephew, Shaun (Brenda) Weinberger of Fond du Lac; nieces Kara Weinberger of Madison and Angela Moore of Indianapolis, Indiana; and special friends Larry and Carrie Katerzyske of New London. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private memorial service will be held. Memorials may be made to the New London Public Library or Princeton Library. Oliver M. Wrolstad, 91, of Iola, died Sunday, January 29th, 2012 at Iola Living Assistance. Oliver was born in Town of New Hope, WI on February 16, 1920, the son of the late Oscar and Ida (Dobbe) Wrolstad. He married Angeline Tominsek on July 29, 1944 in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on January 7, 2007. Oliver served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1945-1946. He had worked as a self-employed carpenter, having his own construction company for many years. Along with his wife, they owned and operated the Northland Store. Later, he worked as a maintenance engineer at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King. Oliver was a supervisor on the Town of Harrison town board and a fire warden for a number of years. He was active at the Northland Lutheran Church, serving on the church council, the cemetery board, and working at the lutefisk suppers. He is survived by: Daughter, Jeanne (Robert) Opperman, Iola; Sons: Gordon (Pam) Wrolstad, Maple Grove, MN; and James (Kristie Kosobucki) Wrolstad, Amherst Jct. Oliver was further survived by 6 Grandchildren: Cole (Mary Beth) Smith, Erin (Nate) Bonikowske, Joseph (Asherrie) Opperman, Jenna Opperman, Michael and Kevin Wrolstad; and 7 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Smith, a sister, Margaret Peterson and 3 brothers, Phillip, Vernon and Julian Wrolstad. Funeral Services were held at Northland Lutheran Church, Iola, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 1, 2102 with Reverend Dan Somers officiating. Visitation was Tuesday 4-8 PM. at Voie Funeral Home in Iola and Wednesday 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Gary L. Wilson, of Wild Rose, age 63, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at his home. He was born in Appleton on December 27, 1948 to Hughes and Elaine (Witt) Wilson. On February 1, 1969 he married Marie Ferguson . Gary was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving in the Army. He was a member of West Holden Lutheran Church. Gary worked at the Waupaca Foundry for over 30 years, and was currently the owner of the Bike Shop in Wild Rose. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Marie; sons: Todd of Wild Rose; Timothy and Robert both of Waupaca; grandchildren: Taylor, Raina and Tyler; mother, Elaine Waldal of Wild Rose; sister, Bonnie (Jim) Claus and brothers: Patrick (Caroline) and Jeff (Melissa); other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. The Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. at West Holden Lutheran Church, with Rev. Todd Murken officiating. Friends and family gathered on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Full Military Honors followed. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
Charles E. Weisbrod, Waupaca, Wisconsin, age 88, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 surrounded by his family at Bethany Home. Charles was born in Nelsonville, WI on October 5, 1923, the son of the late John and Myrtle (Diver) Weisbrot. He graduated from the Jerome Nelson Grade School in Nelsonville and from Amherst High School. At the age of 19, he was drafted into the US Army and was honorably discharged in1946. He served our country well. He did his basic training at Camp McCain in Mississippi; was sent to Turner Field, Georgia, where he guarded German prisoners; transferred to Denver, Colorado, Fitzsimmons Hospital where he learned to be an Infantry Aid Man and was then assigned to a hospital in the Philippines. Charlie loved life! He tells of his trip aboard a Liberty Ship made by Kaiser Aluminum and how his life was spared by the captain of a Japanese submarine who did not want to waste his ammunition on a few men that were on board. After serving our country during WWII, he went to Technical School to become a welder. He did his apprenticeship with his dad in his blacksmith shop in Nelsonville; worked in Milwaukee; and then worked with his dad until he bought his own shop in Waupaca, later taking in a partner, Russ Weisen. He worked there until his retirement. He married Delphine Palash on July 29, 1950 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Fancher. Charlie was a Waupaca Volunteer Fireman, a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, and was a Knights of Columbus member. He enjoyed his family, the friendship of his in-laws, bowling with the men's league, and also with his wife in the couples' league. He enjoyed playing cards, watching sports and discussing politics. Charlie is survived by: His Loving Wife of 61 years, Delphine Weisbrod of Waupaca, WI; Two Sons, Michael (Marilyn) Weisbrod of Stevens Point, WI and Robert (Marie) Weisbrod of Cottage Grove, MN; Two Daughters, Mary (Kim) Schroeder of Waupaca, WI and Marcia (Robert) VanHout of Kimberly, WI; 10 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren: Jessie (Gerald) Lietzke and their children, Kaitlyn and Kayle; Alison (Clint) Pream and their children, Sarah and Molly; Timothy (Shannon) Weisbrod and their son, Nolan; Anastasia (Kurt) Albers; Shannon (Stacy Mittelstaedt) Schroeder and children, Taylor, Nia, and Adalyn; Lewis Schroeder and his son, Tyler; Elizabeth (Brooke) Bremmer and their daughter, Alexandra; Matthew (Pamela) VanHout; Jessica (Stephen) Weiss; Michael VanHout; Two Sisters: Barbara Weisbrot of Nelsonville, WI and Anne Moore of Kaukauna, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Weisbrod; and a sister, Helen Ruth (Tom) Sherburne. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, WI. Father Brian Belongia will preside. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 - 11:00 AM at the church. Burial with military honors will be at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery following the mass on Friday. Joan D. Trudell, of Pine River, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, age 82, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at her son and daughter-in-law's home, under the care of Thedacare Hospice. She was born in Port Edwards on February 28, 1929 to the late Lawrence and Minnie (Feih) Gash. On October 27, 1951 she married Clarence Trudell; he preceded her in death in September of 1991. Joan will be sadly missed by her children: Bob (Beverly) Trudell of FL, and their daughter, Carly (Sean) and their children, Darion and Olivia; Doug Trudell of FL, and his children, Jeremy and Eve; Mark Trudell of Rice Lake and his children, Derek and Kyle and their children, Sofia, Karson, Kaden and Keagen; Scott (Terry Gorman) Trudell of Madison; Todd (Peggy Rosenthal) Trudell of Pine River; grand dogs: Yukon, Izzy and Bella and grand cats, Molly and Bubba; sisters: Kathy (Claude) Clark of Sheboygan; Alice Hilgers of Wisconsin Rapids; other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Bob and Bill; sisters, Betty, Jean and Lois. The Memorial Service will be held today, Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 6 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca. Friends and family may gather on Thursday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
