Evan J. Baldwin, Age 81, passed away on early Tuesday morning, August 31, 2010 at Appleton Medical Center with

his family at his side. Evan was born January 1st, 1929, the second son of Joseph Nathaniel Baldwin and Martha (Fetzer) Baldwin. A long time resident of the Township of Helvetia; where he operated Pine-Apple Acres, a Christmas tree plantation and apple orchard. Born in Symco, he spent most of his life in Wisconsin except for a short stint in the US Army during the Korean War when he was a military policeman and a year in Kansas City, MO. Evan married Dorothy Josephine Krumbeck of Milwaukee on October 13, 1951. He worked as a corrugator supervisor for Smurfit-Stone Container (formerly Alton Box) in Milwaukee, WI for 30 years prior to moving to the Helvetia Township. He enjoyed playing pool and golf and was a member of local leagues for both for many years. Evan's most enjoyable times in later years were the annual family gathering for the November Wisconsin deer season. He was a member of St Mark's Lutheran Church in Symco. He is survived by his sisters, Ethel Paukner of Manawa, WI; Norma Schneiderwent of Ontario, CA; Gloria LaFortune of St Petersburg, FL; and brothers, Ken of Saukville, WI; and Glenn of Rapid City, SD; his two sons, John L. (Karen Ghilani) of Hartford, WI and Evan J, II (Beverly) of Milwaukee. He is furthered survived by his grandchildren: Jackie L (Gerten) of New Berlin, WI; John J. of Rapid City, SD; Evan J. of Shorewood, WI; and Erica A . of Milwaukee, WI; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two wives, Margaret (Kopplin) Baldwin and Dorothy (Krumbeck) Baldwin; his parents Joseph and Martha and brothers James and Alton. Funeral services for Evan were held on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Symco with Rev. Jeffrey Smiles officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Symco. Visitation was held on Wednesday (TODAY) at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home, Manawa from 4-7 p.m. and also at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service
