Louis "Louie" C. Hartwig, age 86, formerly of Clintonville and the Township of Bear Creek, Waupaca County, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at St. Joseph Residence, New London. Louie was born on January 12, 1924 in the Township of Bear Creek, the son of the late Paul and Augusta (Leuck) Hartwig. He attended grade school at Bell Corners and then at Nicholson School both in the Township of Bear Creek. On September 15, 1951, Louie was united in marriage to Burnett Grunewald at the Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline, WI. The couple lived and farmed the Hartwig home farm in the Township of Bear Creek until retiring from farming in 1989. While farming, Louie also worked at the F.W.D. Corporation, Clintonville for 25 years also retiring in 1989. After retirement, the couple enjoyed traveling and wintering in Apache Junction, AZ. Louie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Township of Bear Creek. Survivors include: His wife: Burnett of 58 years; 4 daughters: Jean (Dale) Lohrentz & Eileen (Bruce) Guyette, Clintonville Lorelei (John) Lowney, Fond du Lac Carol (Gary) Christian, New London 2 sons: Larry (Mary) Hartwig, Clintonville Leonard (Verona) Hartwig, Ogdensburg 

Grandchildren & great-grandchildren: Joe (Missy) Hartwig; Children: Beau & Lincoln Hartwig, Kaylee Wunderlich, & Angelenna Callaway Jeff Hartwig Children: Logan & Megan Hartwig, Ariel Schoelkopf
Kathy Jo (Jason) Krueger Children: MaKenzie Jo, Daisy, Brooke, & Jadon Krueger Jeremy, Jason & Justin Hartwig Shannon Mares Children: Bryce & Brittany Mares Keith (Molly) Lohrentz Children: Alex & Lauren Lohrentz Megan (Jacob Stobb) Lowney Children: Peyton Stobb Haley Lowney Marissa & Mitchell Christian His brother: Otto (Marion) Hartwig, Plymouth, WI. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Anna, Margaret & Della Hartwig and Alma Draheim, 3 brothers, Adolph, Leonard & Reinhold Hartwig and 2 nephews, Kevin Hartwig and Vilas Draheim. Funeral services were held 11 A. M. Monday, September 6, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Township of Bear Creek with the Rev. Paul Alliet officiating. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends called at the church on Monday from 9:30 A. M. until the time of the service.
