Howard E. Jannusch, age 80, of Amherst, WI, passed away on Monday, April 23rd, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau, WI. He was born in Des Plaines, IL on January 13, 1932, a son of the late Herman and Minnie (Kautz) Jannusch.  Howard served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amherst. Survivors include his children: David (Karen) Jannusch, Geneva, IL; Debbie (Fred) Hug, Des Plaines, IL; Donna (Ric) Sisi, Arlington Heights, IL; grandchildren:  Raymond (Angela) Sisi, Eric (Hope) Jannusch; Tami (Matt) Stephey, Katie (Eric) Maya; Thomas Hug, Jackie Sisi; great grandchildren: Kora, Kane and Kyah Stephey; Leonardo and Camille Sisi; brother, Raymond (late Marie) Jannusch, Palatine, IL;  sister, Margaret (Bob) Bunce, Des Plaines, IL. Howard is also survived by Julie Hansen (caregiver), and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Carl (Florence) Jannusch, a sister, Evelyn (Harold) Helfogt, and a brother, Roy Garlisch. Funeral Services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amherst at 11 am on Saturday, April 28th, 2012, with Reverend Mark Moldenhauer, officiating. Interment was at Bickel Cemetery, Town of Amherst, Portage Co. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst assisted the family with arrangements.

Friends and family called at the church on May 2 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to St Paul Lutheran Church. A private family burial will take place in the Belmont Cemetery, rural Amherst, at a later date. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
