Main, Donald E.
Donald E. Main, age 80, New London passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Don was born on December 1, 1931, in the Town of Hortonia, son of the late Clyde and Gladys (Kaddatz) Main on the farm on Main Road. He spent his life farming, working in construction, enjoyed hunting, fishing and refurbishing old machinery and gardening. On November 10, 1951, Don was united in marriage to Donna Pasch. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, Don had the gift of gab and could visit and reminisce for hours. He had a very generous heart and would help anyone. His family was his pride and joy and he will be greatly missed by all of them. Don is survived by his wife Donna; his children: Katie (Karl) Bruehl, New London; Don (Cheryl) Main, Morris, MN; Julie (Gerry) Bestul, New London; Chris (Ed) Alexander, New London. Grandchildren: Jacob Main, Morris, MN; Angie (Chuck) Reetz, New London; Amanda (Steve) Gardynik, Black Creek; great-grandson, Ethan Donald Reetz and great-granddaughter, Mira Reetz. His siblings: Mary Lou (Don) Dorn; Joyce Pluger; Keith (Helen) Main; Gene (Karen) Main; James (Judy) Main; Sally Piechoki; Linda (Ray) Surprise and Lila Strong. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Amy Main and a grandson, Justin Main. Funeral services for Don were held on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Donald Main Jr. and Rev. William Heiges officiating. Visitation was held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home (209 W. Cook St) New London Friday from 4-7 p.m. and also at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
