John F. Wilson Jr., age 68, of New London, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the New London Family Medical Center. He was born on November 15, 1943 in Joplin, Missouri, son of the late John Sr. and Lucille (Shelton) Wilson. On February 14, 1964 he married Evelyn Smith. She preceded him in death on July 10, 1995. John resided in New London since 1974. He was formerly employed at Simmons in New London and also at Wal-Mart until his retirement. He is survived by his children: Cassandra Cunningham, Waupaca; Christina (Patrick) Grainger, Madison; Arthur Wilson, New London; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and a special friend Brian Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. The funeral service for John was held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London. Burial is in Mosquito Hill Cemetery. A visitation for John was held directly at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
