People should learn both sides of the issues
I'm sure most people will agree that getting both sides of a story is a good thing.
Kevin Kuehl makes many interesting liberal points in his Feb. 2 letter to the County Post concerning Republicans being uninformed objectively because they only watch Fox News and listen to Rush Limbaugh. Perhaps some do, but one should never generalize to this extent. We're not disconnected from the real world, but I'm sure some Democrats are.
It's true that we're living in highly charged political times, which leads to extremes on both sides of the political scene. Getting down to basics, Democrats want tax increases to fund more spending, and with President Barack Obama, they want everyone in the country to be covered with Obama health care insurance, a scary, unproven system containing many unknowns.
The Republicans take the conservative approach to things, and want less spending, lower taxes, and less government involvement. Thus, the raging battles are going on in 2012.
Spending on entitlements most assuredly needs to be curtailed. The U.S. is very close to bankruptcy. Look at socialist Egypt and Greece. We're headed in their direction. How crazy is that?
It's also true that wars are very costly, and by leaving the Middle Eastern theaters, our costs will decrease appreciably. But it's not all or nothing at all here. There is room for spending cuts, and there is also room for increased health care coverage, just to name a couple. President Obama says over and over that the Republicans bring nothing to the table. Not true, and Rep. Paul Ryan's health care plan is an example.
I'm a conservative, and I look at things in this light. In times like this, everyone needs to be willing to suffer a bit. We cannot continue spending the way our government has. And, there is too much rhetoric being used with political motives behind it.
This is a very important election year. I would kindly ask that everyone reading this takes the time to read all they can on both the liberal and conservative side of things with open minds.

Unless the person making the claim is an unrepentant, pathological liar; then you're fairly safe in deducing that anything they claim is without valuable - even when they are unintentionally truthful.
If you think I'm implying that the Reynolds are pathological liars, then you have inferred inaccurately.
