Summer is officially here
I bet you Milwaukee Brewers' pitcher Yovani Gallardo would have liked that rain delay to last more than 12 minutes last Sunday. At least if it happened on Father's Day, he wasn't the only one serving up big juicy porterhouses.
Now, I'm not going to sit here and have you read about how good my garden is doing because, frankly, no one really cares how my peppers and onions are doing. We'll leave that to other papers.
What we got here in the Man Cave, is the start of summer. Though for now it's just a little caption on the calendar.
Anyways, the mark of summer includes the sudden appearance of lemonade beers. Miller needed to follow in the Bud's footsteps, trying to make their beer taste better by turning them into a fruity beer.
If you want to girlie up a beer faster, Nancy, cut some limes up and stick them in a long neck bottle of Corona. At least you wouldn't be worried about your caloric intake while you're drinking beer. Can you say redundant?
If you will quickly notice, Coors has not had to put any citrus fruit into their beer. They haven't had to turn a beer into water so their calorie number would be lower than 64 or 55.
What else? We're almost to the one month countdown to the opening of NFL training camps. It'll happen, people, you just gotta stay positive.
In the spirit of positive thinking, I wanna continue the tradition I like to call "Getting my ass handed to me by the 10 people that read my column" fantasy football league. If you think you can rule the Man Cave and be the last man sitting on top the beer cooler at the end of the season, email me at eighty_one81@hotmail.com.
Anything else? I have a rabbit infestation eating on my pea shoots. Found out how to BBQ rabbit the other day. I can also do a lot with veal. We'll leave that kinda talk to page three though. Farm animals I mean. BBQ is all mine, baby.
In all my infinite wisdom, I finish with this: bacon wrapped anything is a good. Slice a boneless, skinless chicken breast into thirds the long way, stick a wooden skewer through length wise, and wrap a piece of bacon around it. Grill using indirect heat until chicken is cooked thoroughly.
