Local athletes heading to state track meet

Here’s a list of the local athletes that have qualified for the State Track and Field Meet, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 1-2, in La Crosse.

Division 1 athletes needed to place in the top three at sectionals May 24, while athletes in divisions 2 and 3 needed a top-four finish.

Division 1

Ashwaubenon Sectional

Waupaca: Macie Davidson, first, 400-meter dash, and third, 200-meter dash; and Taylor Davidson, second, girls’ 100-meter dash.

New London: Gabe Roberts, first, boys’ shot put; Pete Marcy, boys’ discus; Amber Pethke, first, girls’ 100-meter dash; Bridget Pethke, second, girls’ 300-meter hurdles; and girls’ 1,600-meter relay team (Amber Pethke, Bridget Pethke, Lexi Roland, Candice Zehner), third.

Hortonville: Girls’ 800-meter relay (Jennifer Roberts, Sarah Glidden, Kathy Derks, Marina Eggen), first; girls’ 1,600-meter relay (Jenna Green, Meagan Weisshahn, Derks, Glidden), first; and girls’ 400-meter relay (Roberts, Malory Arnold, Derks, Eggen), second.

Division 2

Little Chute Sectional

Clintonville: Dominic Masiarchin, first, boys’ 100, 200- and 400-meter dashes; Kyle Petermann, first, boys’ shot put and discus; Markiesa Westphal, first, girls’ shot put; Alicia Moon, third, girls’ pole vault; girls’ 3,200-meter relay (Brianna Gretzinger, Ana Huber, Allison Johnson and Samantha Hohn), third; Lauren Pugh, fourth, girls’ pole vault; and Hohn, fourth, girls’ 3,200-meter run.

Weyauwega-Fremont: Luke Rohloff, first, boys’ 110-meter hurdles.

Division 3

Rosholt Sectional

Iola-Scandinavia: Emily Sether, fourth, girls’ 1,600-meter run; and boys’ 1,600-meter relay (Devin Paulson, Jordan Beyersdorf, Wes Peterson, Dylan Robbins), fourth.

Amherst: Katy Rutz, first, girls’ shot put and discus; and Lindsay Rutz, third, girls’ shot put.

Manawa: Paige Schernecker, third, girls’ 1,600-meter run; and Molly Loughrin, third, girls’ 100-meter hurdles.

Marion: Cassidy Detert, second, girls’ shot put and discus.

Wild Rose: Darren Hudziak, first, boys’ 400-meter dash and 800-meter run; boys’ 1,600-meter relay (Matt Paeth, Josh Erickson, Henry Gage, Hudziak), first; Morgan Yeska, second, girls’ 100- and 300-meter hurdles; Alec Dix, second, boys’ triple jump, third, long jump, and fourth, 110-meter hurdles; girls’ 400-meter relay (Noelle Rasmussen, Haley Hazlett, Makayla Hecker, Karina Marchan), second; girls’ 3,200-meter relay (Danielle Muntner, Alayna Kjentvet, Sydney Pavlat, Gillian Jepson), third; Hazlett, third, girls’ 300-meter hurdles, and fourth, high jump; Stephanie Peterson, fourth, girls’ 100 hurdles; girls’ 800-meter relay team (Johanna Shepard, Marchan, Makayla Muntner and Hecker), fourth; Jon Cochrane, fourth, boys’ 300-meter hurdles; and girls’ 3,200-meter relay (Danielle Muntner, Pavlat, Shepard, Yeska), fourth.
