Soccer team shut out in first two games
The Waupaca boys’ soccer team opened its season with a pair of nonconference losses to Hortonville and Stevens Point. Hortonville handed the Comets a 5-0 loss Aug. 16 in Hortonville, while Stevens Point defeated Waupaca 1-0 Aug. 14 in Waupaca. The Comets will compete Saturday, Aug. 18, in the Oshkosh Invitational before heading to Menasha St. Mary Central Tuesday, Aug. 21. Waupaca will open Eastern Valley Conference play Thursday, Aug. 23, by hosting Fox Valley Lutheran. The junior varsity game is set for 5 p.m., with the varsity contest to follow at 7 p.m.
