Area runners place in top 10 at CWC meet
Rosholt and Wittenberg-Birnamwood won boys' and girls' cross country championships, respectively, Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Central Wisconsin Conference Meet in Stevens Point.
Team results for the boys were Rosholt, 29; W-B, 62; Weyauwega-Fremont, 104; Bonduel, 106; Iola-Scandinavia, 108; Amherst, 153; and Stevens Point Pacelli, 167.
Weyauwega-Fremont's placers were Corey Zeutzius, seventh, 17:34; Bryce Behn, 12th, 17:56; Nick Thomas, 20th, 18:22; James Hoch, 30th, 18:58; and Logan Kobiske, 39th, 19:57.
Iola-Scandinavia's placers were Derek Peterson, 10th, 17:48; Ryan Przybylski, 11th, 17:50; John Faldet, 26th, 18:44; Chase Przybylski, 29th, 19:03; and Westley Petersen, 32nd, 19:25.
Team results for the girls were W-B; 29, Amherst, 80; Bonduel, 80; W-F, 86; I-S, 88; and Marion, 164.
Placing for Weyauwega-Fremont were Alyse Peters, fifth, 16:08; Jane Beyer, ninth, 16:21; Ellen Schroeder, 12th, 17:02; Amy Hingeveld, 28th, 18:26; and Aysia Schroeder, 38th, 18:56.
Placing for Iola-Scandinavia were Emily Sether, second, 15:54; Shelby Trzebiatowski, 17th, 17:37; Leah Pierce, 20th, 17:53; Natalie Gauerke, 21st, 18:00; and Emily Madson, 28th, 18:27.
Iola-Scandinavia will host a Division 3 sectional meet at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the Iola Winter Sports Club. Weyauwega-Fremont will head to the Division 2 Freedom Sectional at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Irish Waters Golf Club.
