Bear Lake program slated for Jan. 21
A presentation on an upcoming fisheries assessment of Waupaca County's Bear Lake will be held Saturday, Jan. 21.
State Department of Natural Resources fisheries biologist Al Niebur will present details of the plan from 10 a.m. to noon at Conroy's Bear Lake Resort, N4715 state highways 22/110, Manawa.
The Bear Lake Preservation Association, a nonprofit group promoting the preservation and protection of Bear Lake, is sponsoring Niebur's presentation. The lake is located just south of Manawa.
The DNR is planning a comprehensive fisheries assessment in the spring and summer of 2012.
Participants will learn how to help collect data; how that data will help assess the health of the lake's fish population; and how that information can be used to make management decisions regarding stocking, habitat and regulation changes.
There is no cost to attend.
