Bulldog wrestlers compete at Watertown
The Bulldog wrestling team competed at the Watertown Early Bird Scramble on Dec. 3.
Kevin Urban took 3rd place in the 113 pound class, losing a 5-0 decision in the championship bracket. Andrew Postel placed 11th after losing 17-3 in the consolation bracket. Jake Close placed 9th, earning a pin to close out the 126 pound consolation bracket.
Earon Postel took 10th place at 132 pounds, losing by pin in the consolation bracket. Tommy Thurber took 9th place at 138 pounds, winning an 8-4 decision to wrap up the consolation bracket. Zach Duenas took fifth place at 145 pounds, earning a 6-4 decision in the consolation bracket.
Travis Miller captured 8th place at 152 pounds after losing by pin in the championship bracket and later being unable to compete due to injury. Andrew Moser took 6th place at 152 pounds, winning by injury default over Miller in the consolation bracket.
Brett Handschke took 6th place after going 2-1 in the consolation bracket at 160 pounds. Andrew Clauss placed 10th at 170 pounds, going 3-1 in the consolation bracket. Austin Postel took 4th at 182 pounds, going 2-3 in the championship bracket.
Justin Behnke placed 10th at 195 pounds after finishing 3-1 in the consolation bracket. Andrew Ritchie took first place at 220 pounds, winning all five of his matches.
This season, Ritchie leads the team with a 7-0 record. Thurber has compiled a 6-1 record, while Duenas is also at 6-1. Moser and Handschke are 5-2.
The Bulldogs wrestle at home on Thursday, Dec. 8. Matches begin at 6:30 p.m.
