Diamond Cats topple Menominee
It took nine innings, but the Clintonville American Legion Post 63 Diamond Cats were able to earn a win against Menominee, 6-5.
Turner Doornink earned the win, striking out nine batters in six innings of work. Menominee's Paul Murphy struck out 20 batters in eight innings of work for Menominee.
Garrick Morgan was 2x4, including the winning hit in the bottom of the ninth inning. Adam Weatherwax, Austin Paisar, Jansen Van Daalwyk, Jake Van Allen, and Nic Hogen all had hits for the Diamond Cats.
Regional tournament play began Wednesday, July 25, and will continue through this weekend at Don Jirschele Stadium.
New London Tournament
The Diamond Cats took third place with a 2-2 record. Bonduel took second, with a 3-1 record, while New London was 4-0 and won the tournament for the first time.

Weatherwax took the loss, while he, Van Allen, and Hogen all had a hit. Van Daalwyk led the team, going 2x4.
"We couldn't come up with the timely hit when we needed it," said Coach Bill Van Daalwyk. "We had too many errors and way too many walks."

Paisar earned the win, and was 5x6 at the plate with two doubles. Van Allen was 4x6 with 2 RBI, while Van Daalwyk was 4x4 with 3 RBI. Weatherwax was 3x4 with 4 RBI, Hogen was 3x4, Krueger was 3x4 with a double, Doornink was 2x5, and Zac Riemer had a hit.

Van Daalwyk earned the win on the mound, and also had a hit, as did Weatherwax, Paisar, and Van Allen. Doornink was 3x4 with a double and two RBI, while Morgan was 1x3 with 2 RBI and Hogen was 1x4 with 2 RBI.

Paisar took the loss on the mound, but contributed a hit, as did Hogen and Morgan. Doornink was 3x4 with a triple and 2 RBI.
