Forfeits add up for Ripon
Waupaca picked up a 51-28 Eastern Valley Conference wrestling win over Ripon Thursday, Dec. 15.
Forty-two of the Comets' 51 points came on seven forfeits to Ben Leonard (106 pounds), Eric Bolwerk (120), Levi Petroske (132), Joe Selsing (138), Mitch Molder (160), Seth Deuman (220) and Logan Feldt (285).
Waupaca's other wins came on Kelly Lind's 5-0 win over Marshall Bauman at 126 and Miguel Barazza's pin of Chase Niederkorn in 3:20 at 145.
Waupaca is off until the Oshkosh on the Water Invitational at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, set for Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 29-30.
The Comets will return to EVC competition at home against Freedom at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5.
