Grapplers win dual over Berlin
The Trucker wrestling team placed 16th out of 20 teams at the Logroller Invite in Wabeno last Saturday. Out of the 11 wrestlers, the Truckers had two third place finishers.
At 106 pounds, Cody Guyette lost his first match 18-2 (Schaal, Coleman) and his second match to Cruz (Menominee, MI).
At 120 pounds, Kelvyn Van Laarhoven lost his first match with a pin in 1:41 (Jones, Florence), he won his second match with a pin in 1:10 (Martonen, Kingsford, MI) and he lost his third match with a pin in 2:08 (Sotka, Crivitz).
At 126 pounds, Dustin Zarnoth won his first match with a pin in 5:20 (Raatz, Three Lakes), he lost his second match with a decision of 8-2 (Krueger, Crandon), he won his third match with a pin in 1:43 (Flores, Florence), he won his fourth match with a decision of 4-2 (Flohr, Tomahawk), and he lost his fifth match with a decision of 2-0 (Young, Mishicot).
At 132 pounds, Tim Jerabek lost his with a pin in 5:08 (Doering, Elcho) and he lost his second match with a pin in 1:27 (Hendzel, Tomahawk).
At 138 pounds, Jared Henschel won his first match with a pin in 1:46 (Wiess, Gillet/Suring), he won his second match with a decision of 4-0 (Smith, Elcho) and he lost his third match with a decision of 5-4 (Lansin, Coleman) and he won his fourth match for third place with a decision of 6-2 (Lundt, Rhinelander).
At 145 pounds, Payton Dimick won his first match with a major 22-8 (Bonetti, Norway, MI), he lost his second match with a decision 8-4 (Klasinski, Wausau East) and he lost his third match on injury default.
At 152 pounds, Shayne Collar lost his first match with a pin in 0:19 and he lost his second match with a decision of 5-2.
At 160 pounds, Mike Klemp lost his first match with a pin in 0:14 (Kottke, Athens) and he lost his second match with a pin in 2:59 (Doane, Crandon).
At 182 pounds, Jake Reiter won his first match with a pin in 3:07 (Ouradnik, Kingsford, MI), he lost his second match with a decision of 5-4 (Tomaszewski, Crivitz), and he won his match for third place with a decision of 3-0 (Witz, Wausau East)
At 195 pounds, Marcus Engel lost his first match with a pin in 3:34 (Rodriguez, Crivitz), and he lost his second match with a decision of 4-2 (Testolin, Kingsford, MI)
At 220 pounds, Brandon Lohrentz lost his first match with a pin in 1:21 (Lemmer, Athens), and he lost his second match with a decision of 10-3 (Wachholz, Wausau East).
Clintonville 36
Berlin 30
Shayne Collar got the Truckers started with a forfeit win at 145 pounds. Mike Klemp was then pinned in his match at 152 pounds, and Berlin picked up a forfeit win at 160 pounds.
Charlie Poppe lost by pin at 170 pounds, but Jake Reiter earned a 7-2 decision at 182 pounds to keep Clintonville in contention.
Marcus Engel (195 pounds) and Lucas Carrigg (285 pounds) were both pinned, and both teams gave up double forfeits at 220 pounds and 113 pounds. Cody Guyette earned a forfeit win at 106 pounds for Clintonville, as did Kelvyn Van Laarhoven at 120 pounds. Tim Jerabek (132 pounds) and Jared Henschel (138 pounds) both earned forfeits as well.
Dustin Zarnoth's 4-2 overtime win at 126 pounds sealed the win for the Truckers.
Shawano Holiday Classic
The Clintonville Truckers placed 10th at the 2011 Shawano Holiday Classic last Saturday with eight wrestlers in the varsity line-up.
Our varsity results are as follows: Cody Guyette placed 7th at 106, Kelvyn Van Laarhoven placed 5th at 120, Dustin Zarnoth placed 4th at 126, Jared Henschel placed 2nd at 138, Charlie Poppe placed 9th at 170, Jake Reiter placed 2nd at 182, Marcus Engel placed 8th at 195 and Lucas Carrigg placed 7th at 285.
Our junior varsity results are as follows: Kelsey Raasch placed 2nd, Tim Jerabek placed 3rd, Coy Hansen placed 2nd, Shayne Collar placed 1st, Mike Klemp placed 5th, and Chris Eisch placed 2nd.
Jared Henschel and Jake Reiter both lead the varsity team with a season record of 9-3. The Truckers wrestle at the home next Thursday, Dec. 22, at 6:30 pm.
