Iola-Scandy gets first CWC-8 win
It took four tries, but the Iola-Scandinavia boys' basketball team now has a win in Central Wisconsin 8 Conference play.
The Thunderbirds used a 10-0 start Friday, Jan. 6, to defeat Manawa 54-42 and improved to 1-3 in league play and 3-8 overall.
I-S also fell to Auburndale Tuesday, Jan. 3, in a nonconference matchup.

IOLA - The T-Birds outscored the Wolves 10-2 in the first quarter, led 28-14 at halftime and took a 36-24 lead into the fourth quarter.
Jordan Beyersdorf and Connor Lodewegen led the T-Birds with 14 points each, while Bradly Hardel added 13. Logan Hass led Manawa with 10.
Auburndale 76, I-S 39
AUBURNDALE - Auburndale, ranked third in Division 4 in the latest Associated Press state high school poll, led 18-8 after one quarter, 35-17 at halftime and 59-29 after three quarters.
Beyersdorf and Lodewegen scored 12 points each to lead the T-Birds, while Austin Hawkins led Auburndale with 18.
The T-Birds played at Weyauwega-Fremont Tuesday, Jan. 10, and will head to Bonduel Friday, Jan. 13, for a CWC-8 contest with the Bears.
