Lady Bulldogs crush Panthers, Marines
The Lady Bulldogs hoops team continued their winning ways by posting a 61-19 win over the Oconto Falls Panthers on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 20-2 lead after one quarter and extended that lead to 32-5 at halftime. The third quarter saw New London outscore Oconto Falls 17-9, and the Lady Bulldogs finished strong by outscoring the Panthers 12-5 in the final frame.
Tara Knapstein led New London with 16 points, while Brenna Heise added 15. Michaela Roland added 10 points, while Heather Paalman added six points, as did Bridget Pethke. Emily Steffanus added four points, while Morgan Steinert and Alexa Roland both scored two.
The Bulldogs made all nine of their free throws.
New London 64, Marinette 11
Heise scored 20 points to lead the Bulldogs to an easy win over the Marines. Pethke and Megan Schlieve each had eight, while Paalman scored seven. Alexa Roland scored six, as did Coral Managan and Steffanus. Steinert added three.
The Bulldogs led 21-0 after one quarter and 40-3 at halftime. They outscored Marinette 9-6 in the third quarter and 15-2 in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Bulldogs play at home on Friday, Jan. 27, with the opening tip set for 7:15 p.m.
The team is now 8-0 for the season.
