Lady Wolves fall to Amherst
The Lady Wolves got off to a slow start against Amherst on Thursday, Jan. 12, as they were outscored 19-4 in the first quarter. They regrouped in the second quarter and outscored Amherst 15-8. Despite the strong second quarter, the Lady Wolves still trailed 27-19 at halftime.
Amherst scored 18 points in both the third and fourth quarters while Manawa mustered only 10 and 11 points. When the final buzzer sounded, it was Amherst taking home a 63-40 win.
Krista Braun led Manawa with 13 points. The next highest scorer was Paige Schernecker who had seven points. Aimee Drath led the team with eight rebounds and three steals. Jaimee Pitt led Amherst with 22 points.
The Lady Wolves will host Weyauwega-Fremont on Friday, Jan. 20.
