Jan. 11, 2012 | 0 comments

The wins were going to come sooner or later for the Weyauwega-Fremont boys' basketball team.

After coming up short in their first seven games, the Indians are now 2-7 after recent wins over Stevens Point Pacelli and Wisconsin Valley Lutheran. W-F nipped Pacelli 62-61 in overtime Friday, Jan. 6, and picked up a nonconference win three days earlier over the Wolves.

STEVENS POINT - Bryce Behn sent the game into overtime with a three-pointer at the end of regulation before the Indians outscored the Cardinals 8-7 in the extra period.

Pacelli led 13-12 after one quarter and 28-24 at halftime, but the Indians outscored the home team 14-6 in the third quarter to take a 38-34 lead into the final period. The Cardinals had outscored the Indians 20-13 in the fourth quarter until Behn's buzzer-beating basket.

The Indians hit only 11 of 30 free-throw attempts on the night, but hit six of 12 in overtime.

Treg DeSantis led the Indians with 17 points, while Tanner Ross and Behn added 14 and 10, respectively.
