The Weyauwega-Fremont baseball team opened state tournament play May 24 on a positive note with a 12-5 win over Menominee Indian.
The Indians are seeded third in their Division 3 sectional and played at No. 2 Bonduel May 29. The winner will play top-seeded Menasha St. Mary Central or No. 4 Shiocton today (Thursday, May 31) for a regional championship.
A big fifth inning also helped the Indians pick up a 5-3 Central Wisconsin 8 win May 17 over Manawa.
The Indians came up with four runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Trevor Potratz had two of the Indians' five hits, while Wes Alix picked up the win on the mound.
