Niemuth, Robert L.

Robert L. Niemuth, Waupaca, Wisconsin, age 83, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010, at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, WI. He was born January 12, 1927, in Waupaca, WI; son of Leo and Marie (Zellmer) Niemuth. Bob served in the U.S. Army for two consecutive periods of service starting on June 21, 1945 – November 19, 1946 during WWII. On September 26, 1958, Bob married Dorothy Bitterberg at Moss Avenue Presbyterian Church in Peoria, IL. He was the owner of Niemuth’s Steak and Chop Shop in Waupaca for 40 years until his retirement in 1997. Bob was affiliated with many memberships and associations including past president of the Waupaca Chamber of Commerce, Person of the Year in 1994, past president of the WI Association of Meat Processors, member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served as past president, and longtime member of the Lion’s Club for 35+ years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and golfing, where he was a member of the Waupaca Country Club for 40+ years. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. Niemuth of Milwaukee, WI, Scott Niemuth of Waupaca, WI, Katie Ervin of Columbus, OH, Ellie Ervin of Columbus, OH, Cameron Niemuth of Waupaca, WI, Kylie Niemuth of Waupaca, WI, Great-Grandson: Carter Niemuth of Waupaca, WI; Brother: Wayne (Charlotte) Niemuth of Richland, WA; Sister: Elaine Grant of Wild Rose, WI. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Marie Niemuth, and a brother, Wally Niemuth. A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1120 Evans Street, Waupaca, WI. Reverend Jeffrey Holtan will officiate. A visitation will be held on Friday evening, July 30, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and also from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca following the service on Saturday. A memorial has been established to the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
