Peterson receives UW Extension award

Donald Peterson, of Scandinavia, was recognized recently for 10 years of service on the Waupaca County Agriculture and Extension Education Committee.

Peterson was presented the award at the Wisconsin Associated County Extension Committees Inc. (WACEC) annual recognition ceremony in Milwaukee.

First elected to the Waupaca County Board in 2000, Peterson has served on agriculture and Extension education, land and water conservation, and water quality committees since that time. He briefly served on the Commission on Aging. Peterson is also a supervisor for the town of Scandinavia.

“Donald is an example of the successful relationship that we in Cooperative Extension have fostered with county board members and county government,” said Richard Klemme, dean and director of Cooperative Extension, a division of the University of Wisconsin Extension. “This strong partnership allows us to deliver educational programming to meet the needs of people in Waupaca County.”

County governments work together with Cooperative Extension to provide local educational programs. Wisconsin residents get access to university research and knowledge through Cooperative Extension offices in every county.
