The St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store will hold its Back to School Bag Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14.
The sale will be $5 for each bag of items.
Last spring, the store moved into a new location – the wedding chapel at Evanswood Village. Evanswood Village is located off of U.S. Highway 10, between Weyauwega and Fremont.
The new location is temporary. Funds are being raised to build a new store on SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church’s property in Weyauwega.
For more than 40 years, the store was located at the corner of Ann and East streets in Weyauwega in the old SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church building.
The building is almost 150 years old and does not have a restroom or running water. Because it lacked proper heating, the store never operated during the winter.
Volunteers run the store and hope to someday have a five- or six-day operation.
Presently, the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Those interested in volunteering at the store may visit it during store hours or call 920-446-2484.
