Two child porn cases filed

Two Waupaca-area men face multiple felony charges for allegedly possessing child pornography.

Joseph A. Bohman, 51, Waupaca, was charged July 30 with 25 counts of possession of child pornography.

Matthew C. Lick, 46, Lind, was charged July 27 with five counts of possession of child porn.

Both men face up to 25 years in prison on each count if convicted.

On April 20, the Waupaca Area Computer Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant on Bohman’s home. His computer was seized for evidence.

Manawa Police Officer Paul Benzschawel, who is part of the countywide task force, found more than 60,000 images on the hard drive, the majority of which were pornographic in nature, according to the criminal complaint.

Bohman reportedly had as many as 60 sexually explicit pictures involving children ranging between ages 8 and 14 on his computer.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Bohman is a registered sex offender. He was convicted of first-degree sexual assault of a child in September 1993 in Outagamie County.

On May 5, officers with the task force executed a search warrant on Lick’s home.

An investigator with the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department working online identified Lick’s computer as being linked to a peer-to-peer file-sharing network involving child porn.

Lick told investigators that he was addicted to viewing pornography, according to the criminal complaint. The images allegedly involved children as young as 2 to 3 years old.
