Program looks at history of Waupaca County Fair

The history of the Waupaca County Fair will be the topic when the Fremont Area Historical Society sponsors “A Look at Yesteryear” Monday, Aug. 30, at the Fremont Village Hall.

The program will begin at 7 p.m., following the historical society’s 6 p.m. business meeting.

The Waupaca County Fair dates back to the late 1800s, and the various locations that the fair was held at and how the fair progressed through the years will be among the topics of discussion.

Those who attend the Aug. 30 program are encouraged to bring something that could be shown at the fair, such as a prized tomato, flowers, photography or a handcrafted item. Past fair projects and ribbons can also be shown.

Snacks for the evening will be things that could be found at a fair, and those in attendance will be able to talk about their past experiences at the fair.
