Brandon S. Dietz, 18, Rosholt, was charged in Waupaca County Circuit Court with taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and misdemeanor theft.
On Aug. 31, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy Patrick McClone went to Crystal Lake Road in the town of Dayton in response to the reported theft of a red 1987 Chevy Camaro.
Dietz allegedly asked to borrow his boss’s vintage car, then took it anyway after his boss said no.
According to the criminal complaint, Dietz told McClone that he wanted to show his boss that he could trust Dietz because he had returned the car.
The vehicle’s owner said 24 1964 nickels, as well as an unknown number of older pennies were missing from the vehicle.
In addition to criminal charges, McClone also cited Dietz for possession of drug paraphernalia and underage drinking.
