Marilyn L. Bowers, Waupaca, Wisconsin, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at her home in Waupaca, WI. She was born July 3, 1947, in Chicago, IL; daughter of Wilbur and Lois (Wrede) Freese. On September 1, 1983, Marilyn married Fredrick Bowers in Boothwyn, PA. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2007. Marilyn is survived by Son: Michael (Roxeann) Matthies of Superior, CO, Two Granddaughters: Erica Matthies and Isabelle Matthies of Superior, CO, Step-Children: Cyndy (Reggie) Layoff, Tom (Tammy) Bowers, Step-Grandchildren: Jane Layoff, Andy Layoff, J-T Bowers, Tyler Bowers, and Kendall Bowers, Sister: Gina L. McCollum, Brothers: George Eddie McCollum, Jr., Jerry McCollum, Kenneth R. McCollum, Beloved Pet: Lucky. Also survived by many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Lois Freese, and her husband, Fredrick Bowers. A Memorial Service was on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. Reverend Dean Wheeler will officiate. A visitation was held from 2:00 – 3:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
