Schefelker, Harold G.

Harold G. Schefelker, age 94, of Manawa, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at the Manawa Community Nursing Center. He was born on March 14, 1916, in the Town of Little Wolf, Waupaca County, son of the late Frank and Martha (Dretke) Schefelker. On October 22, 1938 he was united in marriage to Ruth Prill. They were married for 71 years. Harold was a farmer for many years; he also worked at Farmway, and was a janitor at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School for 13 years. Harold and Ruth were members there since their marriage. Harold was the treasurer for the Town of Little Wolf and also the Director of the Manawa Co-op for many years. After retiring, Harold spent many hours with hobbies such as playing cards, fishing, raising geraniums in house, keeping up his home and enjoying quality time with his wife, friends and family, and doing jobs for his neighbors. Harold is survived by his wife, Ruth; children: Wayne (Jackie) Schefelker, Oconomowoc; Pat Wendt, Appleton; Jean (John) Hoffman, Appleton; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Margaret (Kenneth) Fahser, Manawa; Lorraine (Larry) Hergert, Oshkosh; brother: Everett (Rita) Schefelker, Manawa. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Don Wendt. The funeral service for Harold was held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Carl Luedtke and Rev. Wally Waite officiating. Burial was in Little Wolf Cemetery in the Town of Little Wolf. Friends called directly at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School Legacy Trust.
