Speaker examines challenges of technical education

Jerry Eyler, executive dean of Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC), will speak at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at the Waupaca Area Public Library.

Hosted by Winchester Academy, the program is free and open to the public.

Eyler will address the challenges of education in the context of the New Energy Economy. He will discuss how society funds education and how it will do so in the future. He will also examine the multiple missions of technical education.

He has held his present position since 2008. He oversees FVTC’s manufacturing apprenticeships, graphic arts, construction, transportation, information and agricultural technologies.

Eyler is an Iowa native who earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics at the University of Northern Iowa and his master’s in industrial administration at Purdue University.
