Community members are encouraged to donate their used eyeglasses at the Lost Arts Fair and Taste of Norway event Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Iola Historical Village. The eyeglasses will be collected by the Iola Lions Club, which will be serving brats and hot dogs during the event.
The Iola Lions participate in the Lions Recycle for Sight used eyeglasses collection program. The donated eyeglasses will be taken to the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center at the Wisconsin Lions Camp in Rosholt, where they will be sorted, cleaned, categorized by prescription, and prepared for distribution by Lions and other groups to third-world countries.
Used hearing aids are also refurbished at the recycling center, so bring those along if you have them.
