Hass, Louis Leo

Louis Leo Hass, age 85, of Manawa, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully with his family present on Sunday, October 3, 2010, at the Manawa Community Nursing Center. He was born on September 1, 1925, at the family farm in the Town of Little Wolf, son of the late Albert and Ida (Voss) Hass. Louis went to St. Paul’s Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Little Wolf High School. On August 18, 1948 he was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Hansen. Louis farmed all his life in the Town of St. Lawrence and the Town of Little Wolf. He was also a truck driver with Schuelke Trucking in New London. He loved bowling and was the State Team Bowling Champion in 1983. He also loved hunting, taking “trips up north”, traveling, eating German food especially at the Hunter House Restaurant in Shawano, taking drives in his farm truck with his dog Blue, and watching the Brewers and the Packers. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy; his children, all of Manawa: Gary Hass and special friend Renee, and his children: Shawn, Kevin (Toni) and Jeff and special friend Terri; Randall (Cheryl) Hass and their children: Jesse (Fiancee Julie) and Luke; James (Janice) Hass and their children: Joshua (Elyse), Jacquelyn (Zach) Westrick and Jordan; Susan (George) Meidam and their children: Angie and special friend Jim and his daughter, Sadie; Justin (Carrie); great-grandchildren: Bracyn, Rohan and Danny Hass, Emma Meidam and future baby Hass; brother: Albert (Charlotte) Hass Jr.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Verna Hansen, Kenneth (Norma) Hansen, Elaine Hansen, Eileen Rosicky, Evan (Lana) Hansen and Robert Hansen. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Alvin, Alfred (Adeline), Agnes (Robert) Schuelke, Lillie (Victor) Erdmann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Claro Hansen, Gladys (Irving) Arndt, Henry Rosicky, Kermith Hansen and a granddaughter, Tanna Hass. The funeral service for Louis will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Wally Waite and Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery in the Town of Little Wolf. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from noon until the time of the service. Memorials should be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
