Local businesses receive Patriot Award

Scott A. Wilson, of LeRoy Butler Ford, and David Veeser, of The Aikido Company, both received the Patriot Award Monday, Sept. 27.

The Patriot Award recognizes businesses that support their employees who serve in the National Guard or Reserves.

Sgt. Trevor M. Clumpner is employed with The Aikido Company in Waupaca. He serves in D Company, 132nd Brigade Support Batallion, 32nd Brigade Combat Team of the Wisconsin Army National Guard.

An employee with Leroy Butler Ford also serves with the National Guard and nominated Wilson for the award.

Both employers signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserves.

“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Gil Holcomb, vice chairman of the Wisconsin Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. “Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s National Guard and Reserve units.”
