Weyauwega man charged with five counts of child abuse

Justis A. Johnson, 19, Weyauwega, was charged Oct. 8 with five counts of felony child abuse.

On Oct. 7, Weyauwega Police Sgt. Gerald Poltrock spoke with a 5-year-old boy who showed him circular burns, about 1.5 inches in diameter, on his stomach and his leg.

The boy said Johnson had burned him with an “antler” because he had complained about Johnson’s smoking. Police later found an antler-shaped pipe in the home.

Johnson is also accused of shooting the boy with an airsoft pellet gun.

He faces up to six years in prison if convicted of child abuse.
