Baldwin, Robert L.

Robert L. Baldwin, age 85, of Bradenton Beach, Florida, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, passed away peacefully after a short illness on October 10, 2010. He was born on September 30, 1925, in Manawa, Wisconsin, son of the late Homer and Lydia Baldwin. He served in the Military army air force as a nose gunner. He flew on a B-24 for 18 missions during World War II. On April 22, 1950 he was united in marriage to Claire Ostertag of New Jersey. He worked for Oscar J. Boldt Const. for 25 years, then retired to Florida for the last 22 years. He loved the Packers, fishing, hunting, and his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Claire; his children, Susan Ritchie of Bradenton Beach, Florida, Carol Baldwin (Tony Roman) of Tennessee, Robert Jr. and Donna and family of Indiana, Dorothy and Steve Van Dinter and family of Wisconsin, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Muriel Blink of Wisconsin, Marian Kroll of Wisconsin, Ruthie Ross of Wisconsin, Faye Emnott of Wisconsin. Further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Victor Baldwin, Earl and Loretta Baldwin, Audrey Peluso, and son-in-law, Robert “Bucky” Ritchie. A memorial service was held Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the American Legion in Bradenton, Florida.
