The season came to an end for the Waupaca Comet volleyball team Friday, Oct. 22, with a loss to Oconto Falls in a Division 2 regional semifinal.
Scores were 25-10, 25-17, 25-16.
The Comets opened state tournament play Tuesday, Oct. 19, by taking three of four games from New London. Scores were 25-23, 30-32, 25-23, 27-25.
Team leaders for Waupaca were Kristen Fuss with 15 kills, 31 digs and two aces; Carli Navin with eight kills, 27 digs and an ace; Hannah Butkiewicz and Devyn Molder with eight kills; Meghan Plunkett with 22 assists; Nicole Donaldson with 11 assists and 20 digs; Megan Grenlie with 28 digs; and Taylor Grenlie with 43 digs and an ace.
Leaders for New London included Taylor Williams with 29 digs, Emily Steffanus with 11 kills, Paige Schlieve with nine kills, Emily Gorges with 14 kills, Mackenzi Steinert with 27 assists and Lexy Zaddack with 16 assists.
