Road sign vandalism reported

Road issues were discussed by the Scandinavia Town Board at its Sept. 13 meeting.

There were reports of vandalism causing road signs down on the Bestul Road intersections of Tu-Lakes and North Rollofson Lake roads.

Bridge inspection was conducted for Weinmann Road bridge.

Scandinavia fire chief Dell Mork reported that the new tanker truck is in the paint shop and another truck in the fleet has broken down and is being serviced.

Chairman Gary Marx reported that the Planning Commission has discussed the draft of the landfill ordinance.

Town clerk Jennifer Glad reported that the application has been submitted to Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for Brekke Lake Association, Inc., to become a qualified lake association.

The public hearings on the Preferred Land Use Map, existing Land Division Ordinance and the county-adopted Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance were held prior to the meeting. The board plans to consider a resolution for town approval of the Waupaca County Zoning & Subdivision Ordinance at the October meeting.

A joint special meeting with the Scandinavia Village Board will be scheduled in October to discuss shared expenses and holdings. November 8 meetings include the monthly town board meeting, budget hearing and a special town meeting to approve transportation levy.

Supervisor Donald Peterson announced his intention to retire at year-end.
