Children can trade toys

Do you have toys at your house that you want to swap for a new one? Or just give away so others can enjoy them?

On Saturday, Nov. 13 bring in gently used toys and swap them for other gently used toys at the Hortonville High School cafeteria. Toys can be dropped off from 9 – 10 a.m. While you are waiting for the toy exchange that starts at 10:30 a.m., meet Poley the Polar Bear’s mascot and listen to a story .

Then at 10:30 a.m. the toy exchange begins and everyone can choose toys they never played with before.

Hortonville High School Sociology Teacher Karen Koss says that last year’s first-ever community toy exchange was such a big hit, the students decided to bring it back. “I always encourage the school’s goal of connecting our community to the school, and this is a great way for everyone to come together for a common goal that costs absolutely nothing.”

If you know of someone who is in need of free toys, please support this great event. You don’t have to bring a toy to get a toy. The intent is to make others happy by spreading generosity. It is not necessary to bring any money to this event and no person or family will be turned away.

The Sociology class members ask the community to help with this event by either donating gently used toys or spreading the word to others about this great holiday resource.

All toys not taken after the event closes at noon will be donated to the Harbor House Domestic Abuse Home.
