Poeschl, Robert M.

Retired Air Force Major Robert Milton Poeschl, 91 of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Born August 6, 1919 in Oshkosh, he was the son of the late Adolph and Maria (Scherer) Poeschl. After graduating from Oshkosh High School in 1938, Robert worked as a conservation warden until enlisting in the United States Air Force to serve his country during World War II. In 1940 he married Jenell C. Fogtman in Oshkosh. Together the couple had a son, Robin. In 1943 Robert married Mary Estelle Poole in Salt Lake City, UT. She preceded him in death on October 1, 1995. In May of 1965, Robert retired as a Sr. Master Sergeant (E-8) after 30 years of service. After retirement he moved to Little Falls where he worked as an editor for Krause Publication for a number of years before retiring to Shawano. In December of 1999 he married Hazel Lamberies in Shawano. Funeral services were 11am Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano. Military Rites will be conducted by the Gresham American Legion Post #390 following the service. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Oshkosh on Monday at 1pm. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Saturday after 10am until the time of the service.
